I have a deep interest in the spirituality and values of my clients and I aim to support you to find meaning in your life as a human, and spiritual being. I have been counselling for over 20 years, initially in alternative healing and for the last 16 years using a combination of spiritual and mainstream approaches. After finishing my counselling studies in 1999 and working for various organisations supporting their most high need clients, I completed my psychology degree with a sub-major in religion.
My current practice is based upon neuroscience and how our brain drives our behaviour (Neuropsychotherapy), however, I also use an integrated approach that includes EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) for trauma, Hypnotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Psychoanalysis, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and the appropriate use of technology within the therapeutic paradigm.
My previous work experience includes a senior clinical role for an NFP that specialises in Autism Spectrum Disorder, managerial roles overseeing government funded health programs and tutoring the psychology subjects in the Bachelor of Human Services degree for the University of Southern Queensland. I alsopreviously held a director's position on the Board of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc.

Daniel Hackett - Manager
Cert IV TAE., DipCouns., BHMS (Counselling)., MBA., ACA., PACFA.
As a registered counsellor with years of experience, I work predominantly with young people living with ASD (Autism), Intellectual Disabilities, young people with behaviours, and transgender. I provide group, individual, and outreach (I come to you) services.
I have had some really good results with one of the most common issues I am approached with. Mums who are having difficulties with their ASD teenage son’s behaviours as they get bigger physically and emotionally less regulated and find that the skills and strategies that have worked through the younger years aren't as effective now. I work in the Northern, Eastern and North Eastern Suburbs and am mobile offering outreach as I believe the best work done is in the home where the most important supports already exist with parents and families.
I find it easier to work from the office for assessments and behavioural plan development and management.
I have experience working with clients identifying transgender, gender dysphoria, and non-conformist gender. I use appropriate therapeutic approaches to work with cultural, social and individual isolation and dissimilation. I use my training and facilitating qualifications and experience in partnership with my counselling toprovide successful group counselling and group workshops with young people focusing on psycho-social, socio-emotional and behavioural learning and development.
